Lady Gaga Tickets - Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour Gets an Extension

The 2010 North American Monster Ball Tour doesn't get underway until June 28, opening in Montreal, but Lady Gaga already has plans to extend her sold-out road trip into 2011. Billboard.com reports that on May 10, tour promoter Live Nation announced that Lady Gaga will return to the road in 2011 with a string of arena dates beginning in February 2011. So far, Lady Gaga has 10 arena dates lined up for next year, starting with a Feb. 19 gig in Atlantic City, N.J. and running through April 18. Additional dates for the trek, which will also feature 2010 tour opener Semi Precious Weapons, are expected to be announced in the future.
Lady Gaga's 2009-10 North American tour was also called the Monster Ball, but back in February Gaga told KIIS-FM's Ryan Seacrest that her upcoming tour will feature beefed up production to accommodate larger venues. "It's still called Monster Ball, but it's more of a musical and less of a concert. It has a New York theme, it's a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we're going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost," Gaga told Seacrest. Her theatrical tour will make stops in New York, N.Y.; Toronto, ON; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Dallas, Texas; Phoenix, Ariz.; Los Angeles, Calif.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Portland, Ore. and more.
Among Lady Gaga's tour dates is a headlining spot at the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago. The 2010 edition of the weeklong Windy City event in Grant Park will take place Aug. 6-9 and will also feature performances by Spoon, Yeasayer, Wolfmother, Chromeo, Felix da Housecat, Erykah Badu, Devo, Cut Copy, The National, the New Pornographers, Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell and others. Lady Gaga also appeared alongside Sting and Elton John for the annual Rainforest Fund benefit concert, which was held at New York City's Carnegie Hall on May 13.
There's no denying that Lady Gaga's schedule is jam packed. The singer is currently on tour in Europe and will barely have a rest before kicking off her North American trek this summer, but she wouldn't have it any other way. MTV News reports that while singing her song "Speechless" on stage in Sweden, Lady Gaga addressed recent rumors that she is running herself ragged. "You know when people say, 'Lady Gaga's really tired; she needs to take a break,' I just think about all those times I sang in bars when nobody was singing my lyrics. I'll sleep when I'm dead, OK?" Gaga told her fans, or "little monsters" as she affectionately calls them.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Lady Gaga's "little monsters" are in outrage with American Idol over Gaga's edited performance of her new single "Alejandro." Rather than broadcast Lady Gaga's entire six-and-a-half minutes performance, which transitioned into "Bad Romance," the hit Fox reality show edited parts of the performance to reportedly tone things down for primetime viewers, prompting petitioners to ask, "Would you take a $250,000 painting, cut it in pieces, and put it together to better fit your wall?" Lady Gaga also disapproved of the editing, tweeting, "FOX POORLY + AMATEURLY edited + cut my performance/musical arrangement on Idol."
