Interesting Fancy Dress Costumes and Outfits

It is never too early to start planning your Halloween, Easter or costumes for a fancy dress party. Think out of the box for a change and try some unusual materials, like bubble wrap, foil, paper or luminous materials.

There are so many awards ceremonies these days like the Grammy, Golden Globe, Academy and Movie Stars Awards, that it is not strange to see some really interesting to classic costumes on the red carpets. There are the conventional glamorous gowns, outfits and costumes and then you get those few that go a little bit over the top. The most talked about costume last year was the outfit Lady Gaga wore to the Video Music Awards, which looked as if it was made out of slabs of meat. There is still much speculation on that subject.

For Halloween, one can use interesting make up to enhance that scary outfit of your choice. If you've decided to go as a zombie, have someone help you apply "stitch" marks on your face and exposed limbs for a more creepy look. Deciding to dress up as a ghost is cheap and popular, with only a white sheet to cover you from your head to your toes, with holes cut for your eyes. The possibilities are endless with only your imagination as your limitation.

One usually get interesting outfits on fashion runways where the designers try to make their outfit extra eccentric and special. Not many women would actually wear the outfits as displayed on the fashion shows in real life, unless of course you are Bjrk or Elton John.

Fancy dress parties can be fun if all the participants dress up. One can choose a theme for the party where not only the clothes would fit the theme, but also the food and decorations. Look around and see how you could be different, even if you have to come wrapped up in bubble wrap or dressed in a pizza box.
